Poppy Seed Cake Recipe

Poppy seed cake ingredients:

Butter- ¾ cup

Milk- ¾ cup

Baking powder- 2 teaspoons

Poppy seed- ½ cup

White sugar- 1 ½ cups

Flour- 2 cups

Egg- 4

Milk- ½ to ¼ cup

Immerse the poppy seed in ¾ cup milk for 2 hours. Beat egg whites in a small bowl. Reserve the egg yolks for the caramel topping below. Combine all of the other ingredients and then add the egg whites. Pour it into the greased pan. Bake it at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.

The following recipes are used for frosting

Caramel topping

Egg- 4

Chopped pecans- ½ cups

Cream- ½ cup

White sugar- 1 cup

Combine these ingredients and cook till it becomes thick. Spread over the top of the cooled cake. Put the egg, ¾ white sugar, 1 tablespoon white syrup, 2 ½ tablespoon water, and 1 teaspoon vanilla in a double boiler and heat over medium heat. With the use of an electric mixer, beat the mixture until it stands in peaks. It should look white and creamy. Add vanilla and spread frosting oven caramel toppings on the cake.
